Xena was originally surrendered to a shelter in Quebec by her owner and when they became full they asked Hopeful Hearts to bring her in.
However Xena's original breeder came forward and asked that Hopeful Hearts return Xena be returned to her, as the original owner should have contacted the breeder before surrendering her. Reputable breeders will actually make the new owner sign a contract saying they will return the dog in the future if they are unable to care for them. The adoption contract for Hopeful Hearts states the same.
So Roz drove all the way out to Terrebonne, QC to meet the breeder and great care was taken before Xena was released to ensure that her future is healthy and safe.
What happened to Xena? She's dissapeared from the website.

I'm so glad to hear she can from a reputable breeder, they seem few and far between.
