Congrats to Grace R, Ewan, Sarah, Melinda, and Dana!
Please email mel@hopefulhearts.ca to claim your FurCode!
A couple of weeks ago one of our volunteers reviewed FurCodes on the Ottawa Dog Blog. If you haven't read the review, here it is.
"FurCodes are a genius upgrade to the dog tags of yesterday, containing all the information needed to get your furball home. Each FurCode ID tag has a unique QR code assigned to it, and by scanning it with a smart phone, your dog’s profile instantly comes up. Their profile shows their name, your contact details, veterinarian information, medical needs, and the list goes on. For the social media savvy, you can also include your Facebook and Twitter information. But what if the other person doesn’t have a smart phone or scanner? Simple. There’s an ID code on the back of the tag that can be entered into the FurCode website to access the profile. Your pet’s profile displays only the information you want to share, and can be updated at any time at no cost. It doesn’t get any better."
In the spirit of Christmas, FurCode has very generously donated *FIVE* of these ID tags to giveaway to our Hopeful Hearts friends!
Want one? Simple.
Leave a comment below with your name, your dog’s name, and why you want a FurCode.
This giveaway is open to anyone in Canada or the US. Winners will be chosen at random. Giveaway ends Wednesday December 21st at midnight and the winners will be announced on Thursday. You must comment on the blog to be eligible. Facebook comments do not count.
Good luck!
I think the FurCode dog tags are a great idea. Would love to get some for my 2 dogs. I love reading the posts on FB by Hopeful Hearts. My supervisor at work adopted a pug mix named Mia from Hopeful Hearts just before Christmas last year. She's a sweetheart!
ReplyDeleteI would love one of these for my German Shorthaired Pointer, Drake. These guys travel long distances if they manage to get away.
ReplyDeletehey gang. while I was reading this.. our dachshund coco (rescue) licked my ear and told me what a great gift for him this would be since we have recently moved and need a new tag. and he would love to be the talk of the park with his new tag the next time out. thanks all. two paws up from coco :-)
ReplyDeleteThis would be great for my newest furry family member, Oliver. He's a German Shepherd Dog x Border Collie with a bad habit of trying to sneak off to herd animals, people... anything that moves.
ReplyDeleteI think the Furcodes are a great idea. During University I found a boxer that had leapt from the second story balcony of the persons rented condo and none of the tag information was up to date, having a blackberry then if they had a furcode I could have easily gotten the information. I eventually found the owners parents who had lost their daughters dog while on vacation, they were extremely grateful. If they had had a fur code it would have been so much easier to find them then the three hours I looked. I think of that often with my dog Denver, that if he ever got out I need to get everything possible on him so that he can be easily returned to me!
ReplyDeleteI would love one of theses tags for my new rescue, golden retriever Holly (previously Ava). She has not been trained off leash, so if she decides to explore away from me, then I need to know that I can locate her. Furcode is an awesome idea!!
ReplyDeleteI would love a FurCode for my little buddy Chase. I got him only a little over a month ago from Hopeful Hearts, and we have both quickly become very attached to each other! Would love to have a little extra peace of mind incase he ever gets lost.
ReplyDeleteFurCode is amazing! My name is Melinda and I would love a FurCode for my dog Rupert. Being the busy little schnauzer puppy that he is, having a FurCode would offer that extra peace of mind in knowing that he could be directed back to us should he ever accidentally get away -- you know those terriers and their squirrels!
ReplyDeleteWell that is about the neatest thing ever!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea. I'd love one for my dog Pica who we adopted last year. Thanks, Ewan
ReplyDeleteMy dog's name is Hailey (aka LeeLee, Lee or Hailey Bug). I am Kristen aka Hailey's Lady. Anyone who reads my blog knows that Lee has escaped before and isn't always the best listener at the park (especially if there are squirrels). Anything that will help ensure she is returned to me if she does pull a Houdini would be great!
ReplyDeleteWould love this for my revolving door of fosters! :)
ReplyDeleteNot for me but for my dear friend who's whose hound doggie, Daisy Mae is prone to bolting. I have been responsible for her taking off twice, and this would make me feel better. My two pups are older and stick very close to my husband and I.
ReplyDeleteHi, My name is Emily, and my family and I would LOVE a FurCode ID tag for my new HH rescue Dunny! It would bring peace to my mind to know that if dunny ever got away, he could be located and returned to his forever family.
ReplyDeletesounds like a great idea. I would add anything to my sweet Roxy if it would help to bring her home safely to us.
