With Christmas fast approaching we wanted to let you know what Santa's helpers have been up to this week!
It's no secret that our Fall Auction was delayed and has now turned into a Christmas auction. The last few months have been incredibly busy at Hopeful Hearts with so many dogs coming into the rescue, and we've actually reached an all-time high, as we currently have 65 dogs in foster care.
We're happy to say that the auction is in full swing now and will continue until December 23rd at noon. With more than 250 items -- from a PhoDOGrapher gift certificate to An Afternoon at the Vineyard -- you will no doubt find something that catches your eye!
All money raised helps Hopeful Hearts care for these 65 dogs along with additional dogs that find their way into our family each and every week.
The Christmas Giving Tree that Bark & Fitz Barrhaven invited us to join has been such a success that 44 of our dogs have been sponsored for Christmas!
Originally only a few dogs at a time were going to be put on the Giving Tree to be sponsored, but after emails from Hopeful Hearts supporters asking if they could sponsor a dog even if they were unable to make it to Bark & Fitz Barrhaven, so many our angels have been given a chance to be spoiled for the holidays. If you have a chance, take a look at two of the dogs that your sponsorship has helped -- Oma and Fuji.
Thank you again to everyone who has sponsored a Hopeful Hearts dog for Christmas -- either by emailing us or visiting Bark & Fitz Barrhaven. We're overwhelmed by the support we've received -- not only from the Ottawa community, but from sponsors in California, New York, and Waterloo -- just to name a few. If we could give you all hugs we would!
With new dogs arriving into our care weekly there are a few new furry faces who would love to be sponsored. If you haven't had a chance and would like to sponsor a dog, please email mel@hopefulhearts.ca.
On November 26th and December 11th we held our annual photos with Santa event and raised an astounding $1045.00!
With 65 dogs in foster care, we are very grateful that so many people took time out of their busy holiday schedules to show up to support us. This money will help with the spay and neuter of the 20+ dogs we received as a result of the Paws R us seizure.
Thank you to everyone who brought their furry friends to meet Santa, and of course, to our wonderful PhoDOGrapher for making this happen!
Pawsh Magazine has been a great supporter of Hopeful Hearts by featuring some of our dogs available for adoption in their "Rescue Me" section in each issue. They strongly believe in giving back to the pet community, and for the holidays they have created a special raffle with ALL proceeds being donated to Hopeful Hearts!
You already know your pet is a star just waiting to be discovered, and now is their chance! A $2.00 donation gives you and your beloved pet the opportunity to win a six-page editorial photo-spread in an upcoming issue of Pawsh. From now until December 29th, visit Coco Mutts (1110 Carp Road Unit 25) or Global Pet Foods Hintonburg (1200 Wellington Street West) and fill out an entry form for your chance to win this awesome prize!
